Hi everyone...guess it's been a long time since I updated, so here goes. Life has been very busy for us, but it's all good. Lots of family events...singing with the Shrocks...friends coming for a visit...revival meetings at church...the list could go on and on. In October, we did a fondue supper for our ministers with our friends, Rhon and JR at their house. We had it outside and decorated for fall and basically did the whole nine yards. It was a lot of fun putting it together and then having them come and just enjoy it and get their minds off of some of the stresses of ministerhood. Is that a word? My parents would've been there along with Rhon's parents and her sister and brother-in-law, who is also a minister, so it was almost like a family thing. It was so cold that night, but we bundled up and stayed warm somehow. I have some pictures but I don't have them on this computer. Sharla came for a visit last weekend, which was lots of fun. It was planned rather last minute, which was great, cuz I always anticipate those weekends so much and they always seem to take forever to get here...so I didn't have to wait long. We had some girl time at a coffee shop...she went grocery shopping with me (oh joy)...went out for supper...and all the other usual things girls do when they get together. She went to church with us. She also brought two lovely cakes for Lamar and myself. Thanks so much Sharla!! You're the greatest!! And they are delicious!! Here is Lamar's cake...a buckeye cake...chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and reese cups
Here is mine...almond cake with mocha filling...is anyone hungry yet? :)
Here is one more picture...I saved the best for last. My husband doing what he loves...
In closing, here is a thought that has been on my mind a lot since our revival meetings... "How many hearts have I won for Jesus, or have I been so busy doing my own thing that I don't take the time to see those around me that are hurting or just need an encouraging word?" |
